According to GMDA officials with knowledge of the situation, the Haryana government on Monday authorised the construction of 2.1 kilometres of the outer road on Sector 70A. This development is expected to significantly benefit a considerable number of residents residing in the city sector and the adjacent Palra village.
According to Arun Dhankhar, the chief engineer of the GMDA, the road's construction is anticipated to cost 15 crore rupees and be finished within six months. "This road will be sixty metres in length and feature three lanes on each side. The road will be built as an initial structure, followed by the development of footpaths and a cycle track in the subsequent phase. It will facilitate access to the SPR for inhabitants who desire it. "It will also eliminate any future congestion in this vicinity," he added.
The power procurement committee, which was presided over by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, reportedly authorised the road's construction, which had been planned for the previous two years .
According to locals, the Sector 70A outer road passes through Palra village and is situated behind four to five large condominiums. "The road will connect at Almeida Chowk and form a U-shape with another road, providing convenient access to the SPR." Approximately 800 households reside in BPTP Astaire Garden, while around 1600 reside in Pyramid Homes. Additionally, both the AIPL project and Paras Irene are completely occupied. "This road was much-needed in the region and will also benefit the residents of Palra village," said Jaswant Rao, president of the BPTP Astaire Garden RWA.
Additionally, residents stated that the alternative road would eliminate the need for some condominiums to rely on revenue roads in order to commute to and from their communities. Another resident stated, "We want the authority to ensure that this road is built with all the necessary amenities, including bicycle lanes, street lights, and pedestrian walkways, so that they are incorporated into the project from the beginning." Priority should also be given to the construction of stormwater drainage.
